US President Donald Trump said Russia should make a deal to end the Ukraine war after holding what he described as a "very good meeting" with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France. Trump confirmed he will meet Zelenskyy again later in the day and revealed he had also spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday.
Speaking alongside Qatar's Emir, Trump said both Russia and Ukraine continue to suffer heavy military losses and stressed the need for a negotiated settlement. He acknowledged ongoing tensions between Putin and Zelenskyy but indicated Washington would continue efforts to push peace talks forward.
