TW: pet loss
Many of you know that we have been trying to nurse our sweet girl, Babette, through a kidney infection for weeks now. Weβre no longer able to help her get better, so we will be helping her cross the rainbow bridge at home this afternoon π πΎ
Babs has been such a wonderful part of our family and has taught me a whole lot about building trust. I adopted her after she had spent her first four years of life as a βqueenβ (breeder cat), and we have always wondered what those early years were like. We didnβt know when I adopted her that she actually had two more kittens on the way, and one of those babies is still with us!
It was a wild transition when she joined the family. It took her a LONG time to come around to me, and even longer for her to warm up to Jason, who lived separately from us for several years. But once she decided to trust us, she had so much love to give.
Weβve spent the past ten years growing up together and going on all kinds of new adventures. She is the best βbirdβ hunter and is just the fluffiest, cutest, fiercest little lady Iβve ever known. We are going to miss her terribly.
Maybe someday soon Iβll tell you more about her in a video, but for now, thanks for letting me share what we are going through. And thank you for all the kind well-wishes as we have been treating her infection too! You all are the best ππ»π«Άπ»π
